The name ‘Term’ is derived from Terminus, the Roman God of boundaries and boundary markers. Terms are classical architectural features ideal for interior and exterior use, at the side of entrances or at the end of paths and corridors.
The Soane Term incorporates a human head with a sunflower motif and a sculptured drop of flowers and fruit. The original can be found at the Soane Museum in the Monument Court.
